In the booming pet food industry, efficiency, consistency, and nutritional integrity are the hallmarks of market success. Recently, our engineering team successfully completed the installation and commissioning of a state-of-the-art automated dog food processing line at a client’s manufacturing facility.
Captured fresh from the factory floor after full system integration, this video showcases the seamless flow of modern pet food production—from raw ingredient extrusion to final bulk packaging.
Technical Highlights of the Dog Food Production Line
This advanced processing line is engineered to meet the high demands of premium kibble manufacturing. By integrating smart control systems with rugged mechanical engineering, the system guarantees a uniform, nutrient-dense final product.
• Smart Twin-Screw Extrusion (DZ100-III)
The heart of the line features the DZ100-III Double-Screw Extruder. Equipped with a Delta human-machine interface (HMI) control panel, the operator can monitor critical parameters such as temperature, screw speed, and pressure in real-time. Twin-screw technology offers superior mixing, precise shear control, and high flexibility for handling diverse recipe ingredients.
• Automated Uniform Cutting & Vibration Sifting
Directly after extrusion, the hot, shaped pet food is precisely cut into uniform kibble pieces. The kibble then passes through a multi-tier vibration sifter. This critical step serves two purposes:
★ Ensures consistent product sizing.
★ Separates fine particles and debris, preventing wastage and ensuring only high-quality kibble moves forward.
• Continuous Industrial Drying & Cooling
To maximize shelf life and stability, the sified kibble is transported via inclined conveyor belts into a heavy-duty, multi-pass industrial drying tunnel.
★ Moisture Control: The dryer uses uniform airflow to gently remove moisture without scorching the kibble.
★ Cooling Station: After drying, integrated cooling fans lower the product temperature to room level, preventing condensation and mold before packaging.
• Bulk Packaging & Quality Control
The final leg of the processing line involves automated lifting conveyors fitted with dedicated cooling units that feed the finished product into a bulk bagging station. Operators in cleanroom suits handle the final sealing process, ensuring strict hygiene standards are maintained.
Summary of the Processing Workflow
| Phase | Machinery Involved | Key Function |
| Extrusion | DZ100-III Double-Screw Extruder | Cooking, shaping, and puffing raw ingredients. |
| Sifting | Vibration Screen / Sifter | Sizing kibbles and filtering out fine dust. |
| Dehydration | Multi-layer Conveyor Dryer | Reducing moisture content for longer shelf life. |
| Cooling & Packing | Cooling Conveyors & Bulk Bagging System | Lowering temperature and automated packing into bulk bags. |
